Cette grande maison (près de cent trente m2) a été entièrement rénovée -- Elle a ouvert au public le 1er avril 2016.
Avec un grand LDK (salon cuisine), cinq chambres et deux salles de bains (en plus de deux toilettes), c'est de loin la plus grande de nos maisons Kyoto Samurai Machiya. Les caractéristiques de luxe incluent la climatisation dans chaque pièce, le chauffage au sol dans chaque pièce du rez-de-chaussée et des radiateurs à l'étage supérieur - vous êtes sûr de toujours vous sentir à l'aise.
La maison comprend trois chambres avec tatamis japonais (dormant sur un futon) et deux chambres de style occidental avec des lits doubles et simples. Dans le grand LDK, salon-salle à manger-cuisine, nous avons un salon avec un canapé, une table basse et un grand téléviseur HD à écran plat, une longue table à manger pouvant accueillir jusqu'à dix personnes et une cuisine moderne entièrement équipée.
Au rez-de-chaussée, la maison dispose d'une salle de bain traditionnelle en bois avec baignoire/douche et d'une salle de douche à l'étage. Il y a deux toilettes, une à chaque étage. La maison est également équipée d'une laveuse/sécheuse tout-en-un entièrement automatique.
Tout a été pensé pour être agréable et très pratique pour les grands groupes (équipé et suffisamment spacieux pour accueillir jusqu'à 9 personnes).
En tant que clients, vous bénéficiez d'un accès illimité à Internet ultra-rapide (fibre optique) via Wi-Fi dans toute la maison. Et vous pourrez profiter de films illimités avec Netflix, BBC, NHK ou FoxNews avec le grand téléviseur HD à écran plat (52 pouces).
La cuisine moderne entièrement équipée plaira à tous ceux qui souhaitent cuisiner à la maison. Une sélection complète d'ustensiles de cuisine, une table de cuisson à induction, un lave-vaisselle, un four/four à micro-ondes, tous types d'électroménagers tels qu'un cuiseur à riz, un grille-pain, un mixeur, une bouilloire électrique, une machine à café ordinaire, ainsi que de la vaisselle, des assiettes, des verres et des couverts pour un maximum de neuf personnes. invités. La maison est très bien située à côté de la gare de Tofukuji, qui se trouve à un arrêt (JR) de la gare de Kyoto.
Il se trouve à proximité de nombreux endroits intéressants et juste à côté d'arrêts de bus pratiques. Il offre un accès facile à la plupart de ce que Kyoto a à offrir.
Nous sommes à moins de 1,6 km de la gare de Kyoto, à proximité du temple Tofukuji, non loin du temple Sanjusangendo et du Musée National.
Il faut moins de 10 min pour rejoindre la gare de Kyoto (en train ou en taxi), environ 10 min (en bus) pour aller à Gion et au quartier touristique des geishas, etc.L'arrêt de bus constitue un moyen simple d'accéder directement à un certain nombre de sites touristiques importants de la ville.
Deux gares (JR et Keihan) sont situées à 5 min de la maison. Les arrêts de bus sont à seulement quelques minutes. Et il y a toujours des taxis disponibles dans les environs.
Nous avons décoré la maison avec d'anciens objets d'art traditionnel japonais comme une armure de samouraï, un kimono de mariage traditionnel, des poupées japonaises, un vieux masque Noh, des dieux protecteurs contre le feu (Hotei-san), des panneaux, etc. pour une ambiance plus raffinée.

Amazing place
We had a great stay in Kyoto and loved our accommodations. The house was beautifully decorated and had plenty of extra towels, pillows and mattresses. The kitchen was great, appreciated having a washer/dryer and two showers. But best of all was the location. Every morning we would get up, walk out the door and take a 2-3 mile walk and always see something new. Restaurants, shops and trains all within a few minutes walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay
It was a treat to cook as a family and we all slept comfortably. Initially we were surprised at the size of the house, as it seemed larger online. But truthfully it was absolutely perfect. Everything we needed or wanted was here, including really good umbrellas. We certainly needed them! Great location near the train in a quiet neighborhood. Loved our stay!

Gorgeous home!
My family and I stayed here for four nights. This is a traditional home with a beautiful decoration. Plenty of space in the kitchen to eat with your family. The showers were so refreshing and relaxing. The laundry works great. It is close to the subway, Family Mart, 7-11 and restaurants. The communication was fluid and quick responses. Highly recommend this place to stay!

PERFECT place!
Wonderful! Everything you could ask for and in a great location! Very clean with comfortable beds for us 5 adults. Also nice and quiet to sleep. Appreciated the laundry and the great water pressure in the shower with nice hot water. Can't wait to come back!

New Year for the second time!
This was the second New Years we rented one of Akiko's homes in Kyoto for our extended family gathering (from the US and from various parts of Japan). Both homes were very comfortable and well stocked for family meals. Also the homes are in great locations within Kyoto. Akiko is a great communicator and host. I highly recommend staying at one of her homes.

Awesome Japanese experience with Western comforts
Our family of my husband and I and adult children stayed here for 4 nights. The prep for how to find and advance communication was excellent (including helping us with a Christmas Day dinner reservation we were struggling to make from the USA before we arrived). We loved the blend of rooms with tatami mats and western beds. The kitchen had a large table and as noted in the listing, rice maker, pot for hot water, pots, pans and dishes. We loved the tatami room with the Samurai. We loved the heated toilet seat and the shower had plenty of warm water. The location is wonderful--in a neighborhood near small stores for basic groceries (7/11, Food Mart, and several others) and the subway. I had one questions re a location we were going to and received an answer right away. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

Traditional Immersion and Great Location!
The house was amazing for our size group! And the amenities were up to date and very convenient. The kids enjoyed “Jim” and having the separate eating/chilling room from the bedrooms offered great flexibility with the schedules for all the people in the group. Everything was clean and property managers were super responsive to all our needs. And one of the happy surprises of the place was the location in relation to the city overall. The JR station was really close and if you enjoy walking the streets of the city, everything is relatively close to get to! Thanks for everything!!

Best of tradition with modern comfort
The machiya combines the best of a charming, traditional, historic home with modern comforts and convenience. Our group included seven people (adults and three "tweens") and the home was both cozy and spacious enough for us to enjoy for a week in the cool autumn weather. Very well maintained and well furnished, in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently located near shops, restaurants, Tofukuji train station, and walking distance to several major temples. The host, Akiko, and the property managers were all very welcoming and responsive to messages. They assisted us very kindly with recommendations, restaurant reservations, and luggage transfer. The only thing we thought could be improved is that the walking directions for finding the machiya were a little hard to follow (especially at night), but we did finally make it there! A few wording changes in the instructions would address this. We would absolutely love to visit again and are already dreaming of a return to Kyoto. Many thanks! Arigato gozaimasu!
