8 people, 3 generations. Everyone loved the property

Ages ranged from 17 to 86 and everyone loved the property. The location is great, close to the action but on a quiet side street. There are great restaurants, a 7-Eleven, bakery, and grocery store within easy walking distance. The home was very comfortable and enough room for everyone to feel comfortable.

Mooi huis op goede locatie

Het huis is mooi vormgegeven. We hebben ( 7 personen) genoten van ons verblijf. Het is zeer goed gelegen. Dank hiervoor! Eigenaar reageerde snel op onze vragen.

Great Stay

We had 13 people in our family reunion at Kyoto. The place is comfortable and very clean. Akiko even helped us to make dinner reservation in advance which made our trip a lot easier. Will definitely recommend for large group staying in Kyoto.

Splendid Accommodations. Great Location.

A very pleasant and memorable stay for our 3 nights in and around Kyoto. Very well appointed for our group of 8 adults. Clean and relaxing space with charming decorative highlights. Wonderfully responsive owners and office staff. Smooth processes. I'd stay here again for sure. Thanks so much, again!

Wonderful House

We had six people staying at this home - four children and two adults. It was a perfect spot with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Check-in was convenient, with great communication. The unit itself was clean and decorated with traditional Japanese art and artifacts. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Terrific House for a large group

We had four families, 8 adults and 4 children, stayed for a week and had both floors. The house was just like the pictures, a fantastic size with enough space to get away from each other if necessary. Great fittings, plenty of crockery. Good position with major sights and bus/subway within walking distance. We had a fantastic time and would go back again any day..

Wonderful Stay in Kyoto

Our large group of 9 occupied the lower and upper floors of Miyagawacho Samurai Machiya and I was lucky enough to stay in the Hanare Back Building. The property and hosts get a unanimous 10/10 rating from our group. It's just steps away from Kiyomizu-dera and Nishiki Market, plus lots of small affordable eateries. Thanks for making our stay in Kyoto a comfortable one!

Place was beautiful

Place was beautifully presented and appointed thoughtfully with everything we could need to make our stay comfortable and easy. Akiko provided helpful instructions and information about Kyoto and we felt right at home from the start, and well positioned to enjoy the stay and get the most out of our time. Our queries were answered quickly always. The home was warm and comfortable and we loved staying there.

Family Christmas Holiday

Beautiful old machiya updated with modern conveniences; warm floors, updated kitchen appliances. The machiya has beautiful tatami floors in some sections of the house and beautifully decorated with Japanese artifacts. This machiya comfortably accommodated our family of 11. Can’t say enough good things about the service provided by their efficient staff. We would love to stay here again or any of Akiko’s other properties.
